"Mama!" Yarrowkit screeched. We had been born at Fourtrees the day before. Our mother had left us. We didn't know anything about her. Her looks, or scent. The only thing we knew, was our names, and that we were probobly going to die. My only hope, was to find shelter. I scurried out from beneath Gingerkit and stumbled blindly through the snow. Cold, I thought, So Cold. I traveled or what seemed like moons, and came to what I assume was a tree root. I settled down, curling myself up for warmth. It was then that I felt a pelt brush mine. I jumped and stumbled a few steps in alarm. What is it? Will it eat me?... Then it mewed helplessly. Yarrowkit! I settled back down beside my small, delicate sister. I thought I'd lost her! I still didn't know of my second sister, Gingerkit, but I fell asleep hoping she was safe. Part Two
I awoke the next morning to the warm dawn sun on my fur, opposed to the frost on the hard earth. Another day of cold. I thought sadly. I felt around for Yarrowkit. Her shallow breathing was frightning. I prodded her awake, and we took off. Longer, and longer we seemed to tread forth into the unknown. The snow, now ice, frozen from the night's cool rain, scraped at my soft, new pads. That's when I heard the sound of rushing water. Yarrowkit must have heard it to, because we both ran as fast as our frozen bodys would take us to the sound. It wasn't frozen over, but it was cold. When my tounge touched the water,it sent a shiver through my body. It tasted so good! I lapped up more and more, until I felt my belly would burst! I curled up and rested.Just as i started to dose off, I heard twig snap. I lifted my head, and I heard somthing come to me. "I'm here to help." It said. It seemed to speak with more voices than one. "Get up" It told me. I did as I was told. "What about Yarrowkit?" I asked. "She's comming" The voice insisted, though i did hear her take Yarrowkit by the scruff. The nice she-cat led me through the cold water. It felt as though it froze to my belly when I reached land. She led me further. I was comforted by her pressence. All at once, she dissapeared. I mewed in alarm. She had led me so far, just to disapear? Teeth lifted me off the ground and took me away. I heard voices. But I was too tired to listen. These new strange cats could take me where they wanted, I was too tired to care. I dosed off.
Part three
It seemed that I awoke moon later. And i kind of did. I had really regained conciousness then. A nursing queen's kits had died that week from the spreading whitecough, and she had taken me and Yarrowkit in. We were five moons old. I left the nursery that day, and visited Lilacpool in her den. "Good morning Bubblekit," She greeted me, "You really shouldn't be in here with my whitecough patients." She went back to treating an elder when she stopped dead. "I'm out of an herb!" She said. "I'll help!" I said sprinting to the supply. I Grabbed some catmint and poppyseeds, smelling them out from what i thought the herbs that Lilacpool was using smelled like. "What?!" Lilacpool said in surprise. "What?" I asked, dropping my pack in front of her. "how did you know the herbs?" she asked. "I recognised the smell!" I explained. She paused and stared at me for a long moment. "Do you want to be a Warrior?" She asked me. "I'd be in what ever position i'll best serve the clan," I answered, "why?" "Would you like to train as the medicine cat apprentice?"
Part Four
Prologue:
Bluestar walked towards me from the surrounding brambles. "It's time you took an apprentice" she said in a voice not her own. "We only have three kits now though," i explained, "Silverkit, Yarrowkit, and Bubblekit." "Lilacpool... This won't be hard! Watch for the kit that shows she'll succeed." She told me. "I'll try my best." I assured her. with that, she dissapeared into the brambles, and i awoke. Better go o that elder with greencough. i said, not knowing what i'd find today. at sun-high, Bubblekit came in. "Good morning Bubblekit," I greeted her, "You really shouldn't be in here with my whitecough patients"...
"yes!" I answered, "but why me? Yarrowkit would be great at herbs..." "yes, but Starclan chose you!" Lilacpool said. I stopped dead. "me?" i asked in confusion. "Yes dear," She explained, "Don't you see? They gave you your natural sense of herbs! They told me last night. They said to 'watch for the kit that shows she'll succeed.' I can't be a medicine cat forever, and you won't be a kit forever!" "if Starclan chose me, then there's no wrong in me being your apprentce." "Good!" She said. I'll see if you can come with me to the Moonstone tonight to meet the other apprentices.
"how much further?" i asked, still regretting not taking a drink after eating the travelling herbs. "we're here!" She said as we stepped out of some brambles. It was huge! "Mothermouth" she said, explaining what it was. "Hello," She greeted the four cats sitting at it's opening, "Meet my new apprentice, Bubblepaw." "Hi!" i said enthusiasticly. "Hi," the smallest of them said, "I'm Rockpaw from Shadowclan." He seemed really nice. I walked over and sat next to him, sharing the newest Riverclan gossip. "We're gonna be great friends." He said. I looked into his eyes, behind his face, seeing his un-dying kindness. I must've stared a little too long, because he looked away and asked, "We should be going now?" "Yes." Lilacpool said. Looking at me as if I did something wrong. We traveled into Mothermouth, me right behind Rockpaw. My wiskers touched the walls, and the only thing that kept me from stopping, was Rockpaw's even pace. Just as i thought we'd get stuck, the cave opened up again into a big chamber. The moonlight came through a hole in the roof, hitting a stone. It sent the moonlight reflecting onto the walls, making it look as if starclan themselves had been painted here! "Bubblepaw," Lilacpool said at last, "come forward. " I did as i was told. "Do you promise to withold the wonders and sacrifices of being a medicine..." "I do!" I said, not giving her time to finish the scentence. "Then from this day forth, you shall be known as Bubblepaw." "Bubblepaw Bubblepaw! Bubblepaw!" They cheered, Rockpaw cheering the loudest.
Part Five
"Whatcha doin?" Yarrowpaw asked. "Getting more catmmint," I said as we headed out of camp together on a cold dawn morning, "Wanna help?" "Sure! Anything to help my sis!" She answered. We headed to the Thunderclan border and followed it to Fourtrees. We crossed Fourtrees to the very edge of the Shadowclan border. I plucked several stems, and sent Yarrowpaw home with them. That's when i saw Rockpaw. "Hi Rockpaw!" I yelled and ran over to him, brushing my face on his pelt. "Hi Bubblepaw." he said, chasing me into the catmint. i made a swift turn to the right, but he pounced on me. I flipped over laughing. That's when i noticed something. Something in his eyes as he blocked out the dawn sun with his grey fur. Something in his handsome yellow eyes i'll never forget. I thought I saw love. I got up and started grooming myself. "Are you hungry?" He asked. "Very much!" I replied. He disapeared and came back with a sparrow. We shared it. By then it was almost sun-high. "I'd better go..." "Wait," he interrupted me, "Umm.. will you see me again?.. Tonight at Fourtrees?" I knew it was wrong. We were both Medicine cats! And from different Clans.. But I had to see him. I couldn't help myself. "Yes."
I got up and snuck past Lilacpool. I headed over tothe camp enterance, when I saw that Watertail was on watch. "Where areyou off to?" He asked, already letting me through. "A walk," I answered, "I can't sleep." "If you're not back by the dawn patroll, i'll send the whle Clan looking for you!" He teased. I made it calmly and unnoticed to Fourtrees. I had been visiting Rockpaw here for a moon now. I entered the brambles and went to my usual spot. I watched until I saw the catmint sway. I ran to the clearing to greet him. I cuddled up to him, feeling comforted by his presence. "I.. have something to tell you." He inturupted me from my whitecough story. "You can tell me anything," I said, hesitating, "You know that." "I love you" he said at last. "I think i love you too." I answered. W sat there in the moonlight watching the sunrise when i heard a twig snap. "What was that?" I asked, alarmed. "Probobly nothing" He said. I stared into his eyes again, knowing he would protect me from anything. "I should go" I touched noses with him. "See you at the gathering!" He yelled after me. I ran through the forrest to camp. Watertail was still on guard! "Have a good walk?" he asked. "a great one!" i answerd, running to the medicine cat den. Lilacpool turned towards me with a horrible upset look on her face. "Yarrowpaw has Whitecough"
Part Seven
I grabbed more catmint and brought it to Yarrowpaw. Why did this have to happen to her? I helped her swallow the helpful herbs and let her be. She needed rest. "Are you still up to going to the gathering tonight?" Lilacpool asked, concerned. "Yes." I answered. I must! I was seeing Rockpaw after! "Make sure you don't get worse while i'm gone." i said, hoping she could hear me. We made our way through the thick brambles that surrounded Fourtrees. I stopped a moment and looked at the spot where i would wait for Rockpaw. Once i shook myself into reality, I realized, This would be my first gathering! I'd seen Fourtrees before, but that didn't pepare me to coming face-to-face with so many cats! I looked around, searching for the Shadowclan Medicine cat apprentice. Luckly, Lilacpool led me straight to him. I went imidiatly to his side, and it took all of my power not to treat him passionately. "Let all cats gather beneath the highledge!" The Thunderclan leader said, obviously wanting to share news. "We have a new apprentice," he started. But Nothing, Absolutly nothing, prepared me to hear his next words. "Gingerpaw!"
Part Eight
"Gingerpaw?!" I said in exitement. She was alive! "Who's Gingerpaw?" Rockpaw and Lilacpool asked in unison. "My other sister," I aswered, "Can you help me find her?" Rockpaw and I weaved throug the mesmerized cats, searching for a ginger pelt. We spotted a Thunderclan warrior. "Where's Gingerpaw?" Rockpaw asked him. "Me?" A ginger she-cat asked from behind him. "Gingerpaw," I stared in astonishment, "It's me! Bubblepaw!" Her eyes widened. "You? In Riverclan? What's happenedwith Yarrowki- I mean Yarrowpaw? Do you know?" She asked so many questions. "Yarrowpaw is alive in Riverclan, but she has Whitecough." That stopped Gingerpaw's questions. I led her to Lilacpool. "Can Gingerpaw come back to camp with us," I asked, "Yarrowpaw's her sister too, and she wants to talk to her." "I don't kno-" I walked away before she answered. I stood next to Rockpaw until the Gathering was over. Whe all cats started to depaer, i ran up to Lilacpool. "We're almost out of catmint," I told her, remembering how i'd buried some new leaves in the dirtplace the day before, "I'll get some and return later."She nodded and I turned around. The clearing was now empty, exept for the catmint, and my mate. I ran over to him and licked his neck. "Thank you so much for helping me find Gingerpaw..." I said, comforted once again by the muscular tom. "You know I'd do anything for you!" He said, Laughing. I chased him into the catmint. He pounced on me, using the same technique he used when we were first apprenticed. I scrambeled out from under him and started picking some catmint. "I must go.." I said at last. "Until tomrrow, Love" He called after me. I ran clumsily towards the camp. What's wrong with me, I thought, Why have i gotten so clumsy? When i entered Riverclan camp, the firs thing i saw, was Gingerpaw. She was crying! "Yarrowpaw... Has... Greencough!" She said in between cries.
Part Nine
"Don't die!" was the only thing I said for the next moons. Yarrowpaw was in critical condition, and all the Warriors were getting more upset by the day. They all loved her. She was the heart of the Clan. Everyone was snappy and mean. Rockpaw was now an official medicine cat. He was now Rockfur. His mentor died from old age. This was a very depressing time for all the clans. The only thing that was sane in the any of the clans, was the apprentices. The happy news, was that I was having my ceremony that night. When we entered the moon'lit cave, My breath was taken away as it did when I saw Rockfur. "Bubblepaw, step forward." Lilacpool's voice rang out in the small cave. "Is it your wish to take the responsibility of a Medicine cat, and to watch over every cat inte clan?" "It is" "..Then from this day forth, you will be known as Bubblewish. Use your skills well to protect Rivrclan." "Bubblewish! Bubblewish! Bubblewish!" I touched my nose to the moonstone, sending myself into a deep sleep. When i opened my eyes, i was by a long river with an enormus island in the center. "All new must leave if the clans are to live on. All old will be swept away in darkness" I opened my eyes to see the moonstone again, but something wasn't right. I listened, and heard water rushing. closer and closer it came. Louder and louder... then silence.
Part Ten
I ran out of Mothermouth before the others woke up. This was a prophecy that needed to be forfilled now. I ran into the Windclan camp. All was quiet. I woke the apprentices. "Hey, You're a medicine cat." They all repeated eachother. "Go to fourtrees," I said, "I'll meet you there." They all sleepily stumbled out of the den. I ran to the warrior's den and woke a few of the newest Warriors. I told them the same thing, and they responded the same. A senior warrior sat up from the racket. "Run!" i said. They obayed. I ran out of the camp into the Thunderclan camp. This went as smoothly as the first, and Gingerpaw stayed with me, not knowing what i was doing. What am Idoing?! I kept asking myself. Then i remembered that Starclan wouldn't have told me the prohpecy if they didn't want me to furfill it. I ran to the Shadowclan camp. As soon as i entered, I ran into Rockfur. "What are you doing here?" He asked me. "No time.. explain," I told him inbetween gasps, "Tell all.. Aprentices.. Go to.. Fourtrees." "Okay.." He said as i ran to the warrior's den. I waked some new Warriors, and told them to go to Fourtrees as i'd told the Thunderclan and Windclan cats. I ran out of camp with Rockfur and Gingerpaw to the Riverclan camp. I woke the apprentices and told them to go to Fourtrees. I took the newest Warriors and dashed to Fourtrees with My mate and sister by my side. I entered the clearing, to see what could have looked like half the cats at a gathering. What does Starclan want me to do!? I asked myself, looking at the assembled cats as they waited for me to speak.
With all Eyes on me, the apprentices and Warriors were silent. I walked to the Highstone, avoiding Eye contact of every cat. When i finally looked down on allof the cats, i knew exactly what to say. "Starclan told me, that we needed to leave the forest." The cats in the clearing threw yowls of protest, but Rockfur silenced them with a mighty Yowl. "If Starclan told us to," Gingerpaw explained, "than we must." This seamed to satisfy the cats. "We must leave now" Rockfur said to the crowd. "I still don't know where to go!" I whispered to Rockfur. "Follow me." A cat said next to me, speaking with more voices than one. It was the cat that brought me to Riverclan when i was a kit! Somehow, i knew it was. I followed it out of the clearing. "I thought you didn't know where to go!" Rockfur said. "An old friend came to help." I explained. I followed her to Mothermouth. She entered, and i followed. The cats behind me whispered to eachother. They didn't see the cat that helped me. They didn't know Starclan themselves were helping us. Rather than going to the Moonstone, the Starclan cat turned swiftly right into a side tunnel. It seemedto slope downward deeper into the earth. It suddenly went up. It seemed to drag on forever. Up, and up, until it opened to an exit filled with moonlight. When we left the Tunnel, we came to a Clearing. There was a cliff, not too far from where we were. I walked over to the edge, and saw all of the clans. Their territory, their Camps, everything! We stopped for the night and decided to rest until the next day. "Until tomarrow..." The Starclan cat said from my side and faded into nothing. The Clan cats were falling asleep, in four groups. They're very shy... She thought to herself while she ran to Rockfur. He introduced her to his Clan's newest Warriors.. Pinebelly, a Long-haired tom, Graceleaf, a tabby she-cat, and Frostpelt, a White tom. They didn't want to leave their familys, but said that they went because Starclan wanted them to. How far will we have to go to get to our new home? I asked myself as i drifted off to a comforting sleep.
Part Twelve
"Wake up sleepyhead..." Rockfur whispered in my ear. The thing i loved most about finding a new home was that i got to spend my time with Rockfur. I sat up too fast and got dizzy. "Are you okay?" He asked, sencirely concerned. "Yea, i'm fine" i said. "A couple of Cats from each clan went out and got a great Frest-Kill pile," Rockfur explained, helping me up, "The prey's running well here!" I stumbled a little, but caught my balence. I'm such a Clutz! I thought. That's when i realized i had gained some extra weight. With the little prey we'll be getting, it won't be hard to lose. I concluded. After finishing off the pile, the starclan cat came again. I had truely doubted she would come again. We left following her. We traveled through a Marsh, Around a Feld of what the Windclan cats called "Horses", Under a twoleg bridge, and alongside a river. "How much longer?" I asked the Starclan cat. "Two more days." She said, looking onward. Two whole days! She stopped dead. a new cat appeared in her place. "The star cats told me to give you a message." The strange cat said with a raspy old voice. "The frozen Yarrow has wilted." He said, confused by his own words. Me and Gingerpaw understood clearly. We settled there that night, Rockfur, Gingerpaw, and I keeping a vigil for Yarrowpaw. I cried all night cuddling up to Rockfur. We had lost not only a valuble Warrior, but a great sister, and friend.
Part Thirteen
We walked on the next day. "Are you okay?" Rockfur asked me. "Yea," I said, "I still grieve for my sister, but i have to put the matter aside for the sake of the clans." "You sound like a leader." He said admirably. "Oh, stop it" I laughed, nudging his sholder. The Starclan cat led us to a cave. "You'll stay here for the night." She said. "Wait!" I stopped her before she faded, "Who are you?" The question that had been haunting me for my whole life was now in the open. I might finaly get an answer. "I was a rogue that had a clan destiny set for me." was all she told me before she faded once again. "Tomarrow!" I announced, "Tomarrow, we will find our homes!" The croud of cats cheered. When we slept that night, we were no longer sleeping foxes away fron each other. We were still sleeping with our own clans though. I padded towards Gingerheart. "I'd like to introduce you to my clan! She said, The apprentices are Gorsepaw and Leopardpaw." She explained, "The warriors are Silentgaze, Moonpool, Heatherleaf, and Foxtail." I could tell Foxtail had a liking to her by his eyes. They always seemed to be drifting to her. he was amaised at everything she said. I hope she notices what's right under her nose. I said to myself as we left to get Fresh-kill before bed.
Part Fourteen
When i opened my eyes, i found myself in a strange place, with a mixure of all the clan's sents around me. Where was the Medicine cat den? Oh, right. We'r on a jorney to Starclan knows where, for a reason they won't explain. I stood up and fell back down. Okay, this weight thing was getting annoying. i needed to loose some pounds. "Bubbleshine?" Gingerheart padded over. "Are you okay?" She helped me up. "You look as if you're going to have kits!" She said offended. "Why didn't you tell me?" "Kits?" I asked ,laughing, "I've just gained too much weight!" "Not with the crowfood we're eating!" She said with a glance at our poor excuse for a fresk-kill pile. She was right, we hadn't been eating good lately. "Kits?" I asked again, more serious this time. "Does Rockfur know?" She asked. "Him?" I said with a smile, "I didn't know... Why would he?" He appeared as if on cue with a vole for the three of us to share. "Rockfur!" I yelled, making him drop the meal in alarm. "What?" he asked calmly. "I'm having kits!!" I blurted without thinking. "Mine? You? Are you mad for it? US?!" He laughed. "Yes, medicine cats put aside. But if we're having kits, or moving to a new place, we need to train a new medicine cat from each clan!"
Part Fifteen
We desided to think of us all as one big clan. After we talked about my comming kits and Medicine apprentice training, I desided to take on Birdpaw and Dawnpaw. Rockfur was to teach Gorsepaw and Bellypaw. We started to teach the apprentices at our temporary camp about Herbs. We no longer thought of ourselves as seperate clans. Newclan, was our temporary name. After a lesson, we desided to stay at the same spot for the night. When the Clan retired to bed, I took a walk alone twoards the nearby forest. I then spotted a light. Two cats emerged with striking simelaritys. "I'm sorry i couldn't bring you to your home today," The Starclan cat that had been helping me said. "The jorney will be longer." A farmiliar voice came from next to her. "Yarrowpaw!" I smiled, "How are the old clans?" "Not well," She said, "Starclan was right to bring you away. The clan names are being covered in a river of blood." I was speechless. I didn't know that the old clans were to suffer, but i had one more question to ask before i fretted too much. "Is Starclan mad that I'm having kits?" Bubbleshine asked the unknown figure, "And who are you?" "It is time you knew," She sighed, "I am your mother, Hollyfoot, and there has been a prophecy around you sense before i died giving birth to you. 'A kit born to Holly will save the clans from a river of blood.' There are more prophecys to you that will not be revealed now, but yes, We knew you were having kits, and we arn't mad." NOW i was speechless. The figures disapeared, and i ran back to camp, almost crying at the thought that Starclan had set many prophecys around ME. as soon as i got back, i saw Redtail and Gingerheart snuggling. When Gingerheart turned and saw me, she ran over. "Me and Foxtail are mates!"
"Well?" I asked Dawnpaw as we padded after Hollyfoot. "Honey!" She replied at last, "Honey is for sore throats!" "Very good!" Rockfur complimented her. "Yes, all the apprentices are half-ready to become medicine cats!" It had only been two days after my encounter with my mother, and already, the Medicine cat apprentices knew almost all of the herbs by memory. We were comming along well! Gingerheart and Foxtail had their tails wrapped around one another. Newclan was thriving, and well. I still woried for the fate of our old clans though... That night, we came to a riverside. Hollyfoot disapeared. We settled down beside the flowing water. One clan. Just as i started to fall asleep, i heard barking. Dogs! Almost every cat stood up and turned towards the nearing yapping. Two large Twoleg dogs flung themselves at Bellypaw and Moonpool. The whole clan attacked the stupid dogs. Bellypaw managed to escape the dog's thrashing teeth and ran to me. i was about to jump for the dog, but Rockfur's apprentice held me back. "Let go!" I yelled at him. "Your kits!" He said, "You might hurt your kits!" I sat back again. He seemed satisfied. I watched as the Warriors clawed the dogs as if they were protecting Starclan. The dogs whimpered and ran off. Rockfur's apprentices and Mine were ordered to check the cats for any wounds. When my apprentices reported back, they said the saw no serious injurys that they could help with. When Rockfur's apprentices reported back, the had us follow them. They brought us to an un-recognisable she-cat. She was covered in blood, and had a deadly wound on her side. I walked up to her. "What do we need?" I asked Birdpaw. "Cobwebs?" She asked. I nodded, and she continued, "Marigold and Poppy seed" "Go get the Herbs" Rockfur told his apprentice. Gorsepaw disaprared to find my order. I looked the she-cat in the eyes. "It's Moonpool!" I said to the surrounding crowd. "Give her some room. Go to bed." The group disbanded and Gorsepaw returned with the Herbs and Cobwebs. "What do you do first?" Rockfur asked. "Chew the Marigold to spread on her wound!" Bellypaw said. "No," I answered. "You clean the wound." Dawnpaw said. "That's right." She and the others licked it clean. Once they all got her patched up, We all slept around her in a sort of semi-circle. I opened my eyes and found myself back at home. Why am i here? I asked myself. I knew i was dreaming. I was in the center of the clearing and my sister sat next to me. "I have to show you what's happening." Yarrowpaw said, Her voice cracking. I watched as our old Leader jumped up to the Highstone. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the Highrock for a clan meeting!" Moonstar's voice rung throughout the camp. No apprentices emerged from their den. Instead, Elders and Warriors filled the clearing. "This is the fifth night sense the Apprentices and new Warriors disapeared, along with our new Medicine cat." The cats yowled in protest. "Have you had any signs Lilacpool?" Moonstar asked the Medicine cat. My heart ached seeing my old mentor. How worried she must be! "No." She said at last, Tears filling her eyes. "We can only assume another clan has stolen them!" a cat's voice rang out. The other cats meowed in agreement. "Shadowclan has been pressing on our borders." She thought out loud. "We will confront them tomarrow at Dawn!" She announced at last. The clan cheered. "They're going mad!" I told Yarrowpaw. She looked at me with tears in her eyes. She was replaced by Lilacpool coming towards me. She stopped right in front of me. "Oh Starclan," She asked Silverpelt, "Why have you done this to us?" I watched her as the vision faded into blackness. "Why?"
Part Seventeen
I walked with my unborn kits swaying side-to-side towards Yarrowpaw and Hollyfoot. It was almost a moon sense we had left camp. Newclan was hungry and tired. We needed to get to the new home- and fast. Yarrowpaw slowed down and gave me er starry sholder to lean on. The new weight i was gaining was really taking it's toll on me. "Not too far now." She said, comforting me. Rockfur, Gingerheart, Bellypaw, and Foxtail were carrying Moonpool. She winced in pain everytime they had to step over an obsticle. Hollystep slowed down and went to my other side. "The home's right up here." She motioned to a cliff not far off. I ran up to the cliff as fast as my belly would let me. Once i got to the edge i stopped. It was beautiful! It was a large square patch of land with a field of stone in the middle. it was flat, white stone, perfect for gatherings with a Great Willow at it's front. The North-West was marshey, The North-East was filled with lush forrest, The South-West had a River, a little bigger than the one at home, and The South-East Was flat land. We gazed in awe until we collapsed where we stood. We desided to sleep there, and figure everything else out tomarrow. I dreamed i was at the Great Willow. There were pawprints In the old stone leading straight through the Willow. I slipped my paws into them, and came to see that the tree was hollow. It had hardened sap on the walls that shone with the light of the moon! There was a hole in the top that let moonlight seep through. There was a pool of water directly under the opening that shone it's own unearthly light. I heard a tom's clear, heart-melting voice: "Fox of Thunder, Silver of River, Moon of Wind, and Heather of Shadow." I knew these cats were to be the leaders of the said clans.
Part Eighteen
Once she gave the soon'to-be leaders the news, they all couldn't believe it. The clan decided to travel to Stonefield. They traveled through the middle of Soon-to-be Windclan and Riverclan border straight to the Stonefield. "Did you hear that?" Heatherleaf asked. "What?" I said, confuzed. "...Nothing." She said, dropping the subject. What was she talking about? The Great Willow came into sight. We all ran towards it with the last of our strength. The clan waited while the leaders, Rockfur and I entered the Willow. They gazed at the walls as we approached the pool. "Drink from it." I instructed them. I watched as everyone drifted into a deep sleep, then i drank too. I opened my eyes to see a cliff. It had a river Not too far away, and Silverleaf was next to me. He was replaced with Rockfur. Yarrowpaw and Hollyfoot came, and we tried to remember all of the clans they seperated the cats into. Rockfur and Yarrowpaw left. "Once all is settled, a war will rage to keep your homes." Was the prophecy she gave to me as she disapeared. I opened my eyes to see that Rockfur had already told the leaders their clans. They selected deputys then and there, and Rockfur was to be Riverclan's deputy! We left and got some rest as we sent the apprentices into the Willow to get their names. We would seperate the next day to our homes. I was almost ready to have my kits too. Soon.
Part Nineteen
"Goodbye sister," I cried to Gingerheart. She left to her new territory, her pelt just brushing Foxtail's. I turned towards my mate. "Your gonna be a father any day now..." I reminded him as we padded forward to establish a new home. "I'm so exited!" He yelled. "Yep, but for now," I reminded him, "You should probobly help our leader!" "Oh yeah!" he said, realizing he was still deputy. We padded through the trees until we came to a river. "Over there." Songpaw pointed out. There was a kind of peninsula that was surrounded by brambles. "Perfect!" Silverstar said, running to it. the rest of the clan ran as fast as their paws would take them. I couldn't run, but Stonefur stayed behind and helped me. When we finally got there, Silverstar pointed out to everyone how we should shape the camp, and what we should use to do it. They used a small cave for the leader's den, the top was the Falling Stone, for it's akward angle. The warriors wrapped brambles around a strong Fern for the nursery, and I went in to watch from it's safety. It was nearly Moonhigh by the time they finished the Warrior's den. The apprentices and Meddicine cat slept with the warriors that night. Stonefur slept with the Warriors that night. It was such a large den for such a small amount of cats. My den was a little big for one cat too. I curled up and fell easly asleep.
Part Twenty
I awoke in the middle of the night. A sharp pain tugged at my side. I yowled in pain. The kits were comming! I yowled again, this time seeing Rockfur dash past the den. I lay on my side to get more comfortable. The smell of herbs suddenly filled the den. "Bubblewish!" Rockfur whispered. "Rockfur, you're here." Another pain shot through my body. I yowled again. "Eat these." Dawnleaf ordered me. I did as I was told. The herbs tasted foul, but they were nothing compared to the pain. The worst pain so far shot through my body all at once. It felt as if someone was raking their claws through my pelt. "Push this time." Dawnleaf ordered. I watched as she shoved a kit towards Rockfur. He licked the little scrap of fur. another Warrior joined him. I couldn't see who, But the other cat was licking another kit. all at once, the pain stopped. It was the biggest relief of my life. Now that i could see straight, I saw my kits suckling. Three. There were three. One was a grey tom with white paws. "Cloudkit" Rockfur announced. The second kit was a light cream she-cat. "Honeykit" I smiled. The last kit Was a frosty grey she-cat with a white belly and face. "Silverkit" We both said at the same time. We watched all night as the kits fell asleap and suckled throughout the night. At dawn, I fell asleep and Rockfur left for a patrol.
I watched as Honeykit opened her eyes for the first time. I started to cry. I didn't want anyone to come in the Nursery until Rockfur got back. Her eyes widened as she looked around the den. Cloudkit opened his eyes next. His expression was the same as his sister's. They sat next to eachother, wondering what they were. I giggled seeing them paw at eachother's faces. Honeykit squealed when Cloudkit touched her. That was when Silverkit opened her eyes. She reacted the same as the others. Rockfur appeared in the entrance. "Teir eyes have just opened." I said, looking up at my mate. He smiled and sat next to me. We watched the kits as they discovered that they were seperate beings. "Someday," Rockfur told me, "They'll be better Warriors than any of us." "I have a strange feeling you're right." I looked at him, understanding.
Part Twenty Two
"Hey, stopppit!" Honykit cooed at her brother who was holding her down. I watched Silverkit look at their every move. "Can i try?" She asked Cloudkit. "Sure, but i'm gonna win!" He jumped on her. He looked like he was winning, but Silverkit quickly flipped him off of her and had him pinned down. How did she do that?? I had no idea how she learned his weakness so fast. "How did you do that?" Honeykit asked. "Well," Silverkit explained, "When i was watching you and him, i noticed he couldn't hold his weight well. I flipped his legs off of the ground, and that was it." She looked to her father. "Was that alright?" She looked for approval. "That was amaising!" He told her, "Try to stop me?" He attacked her with sheathed claws. I was a little nervous he'd be too hard on her. Before i knew what was happening, Rockfur was on the ground, panting. "How do you do that?" Cloudkit asked her. "With daddy it was different." She told us all, "He focused too much on swatting at me, and did very little footwork. I pulled one of his legs," She giggled, "And he went all tumbling down." "That's amaising!" Willowspeak said from a corner. She was having kits soon too with Silverstar. "I need to talk to Silverstar about having them apprenticed." Rockfur padded out of the den. Silverkit's eyes glowed at the thought. Honeykit sat by Willowspeak. Apprentices...

Part Twenty Three
"Hey Honeypaw!" I ran to the Medicine cat den. She was the Medicine cat apprentice. "Yea Silverpaw? Is something wrong?" She asked, concerned as always. "No, I was just wondering if you wanted to share my first fresh-kill with me!" She took a look at the Shrew I caught. "Of course!" We ate my Shrew and Honeypaw got put to work by Dawnleaf. I ran to a hunting patrol with Cloudpaw and his mentor, Songheart. We padded far ahead of his mentor. "Look!" I spotted a Squirrel a few fox-lengths ahead of me. I made sure to stay low. They'd see me before anything else. I padded closer. Snap! I had stepped on a twig and it ran up a tree. Cloudpaw started to run after it. Just as it settled on a top branch, and he stated to climb the tree, the weirdest thing happened. One minute he was at the bottom of the tree, the next he was behind the Squirrel. He just moved without moving! He finished off the Squirrel and popped back down. "How did you do that?!" I asked my brother. "Well... Umm... I kinda just imagine myself in that place... and I move there. I found out I could do it when I was first apprenticed. Songheart knows too." As if on cue she appeared. "What is it?" She asked us. "I think Cloudpaw can teleport!"
Part Twenty Four "Try to attack me" My mentor told me. I took one look at Jaywing and noticed that he was skinny as a Windclan cat. I ran under hin and hit him in the stomache with sheathed claws. He couldn't hold his weight right, and was tiping to the Left. In a split second, I kicked him hard on the right and he fell over. "How was that?" I asked, not even a sweat broken. "Amaising! How did you do that?" I told him how he was built like a Windclan cat. He told me my strategie was great. His stomache was split a bit by the force of my kick, so I got to visit the Medicine cat den. "Hello!" Honeypaw greeted me, "How was training?" "Training? I only learn that I have good power and strategy! It's hardly training..." We laughed. "So Jaywing's stomach split? That must have been one hard kick!" She asked. "Yea! Funny st-" I stopped. "What?" She asked, "Why'd you stop? I like funny stories!" "I never told you his stomache split." "Oh..." She looked away, "Oh..." "Oh..?" I asked. "Now the whole clan will know. You won't tell... will you?" She begged. "Tell what exactly? How did you know?" I was so confuzed. She moved in closer, "That I can read minds!?"
Part Twenty Five
"Hurry up!" I yelled back at Honeypaw. "I still don't think it's a good idea..." She mumbled. "They're our parents!" Cloudpaw scolded, "They'll understand our powers!" We were meeting our parents on a hunting patrol, and they were going to tell them about their powers. I admit, I was very jealous. If your brother could teleport, and your sister could read minds... Wouldn't you think that wasn't fair? I spotted a mouse and something seemed to click in my mind. It had never done that before, but The mouse had stopped, and I killed it no problem. I stood up and turned to them to show it off. They had stopped. "What?" I asked. They seemed to stare past me. "Hello-o..." I waved a paw in front of Honeypaw's face. It was like time had frozen. "Wait..." I said to myself. What about that 'click' That happened in my head before I caught the mouse. I 'clicked' in my head again, and things started moving again. Honeypaw and Cloudpaw walked past me. I picked up the mouse again and turned towards them. They stopped and turned towards me. "When did you get that mouse?" Cloudpaw asked. "I... Umm... Just caught it." I studdered. "Oh," Honeypaw said, "Okay." We walked on to meet our parents at Shining River. What did I just do?
Is that a compiment? You sound like my friend. Geese I try to be nice and then you tell me I sound like some guy named Silverstar. I haven't read these so.
do not use this site to throw that in your friend's face. As punishment, I will tell her this when she gets on, or on Monday, and she'll go crazy on you. * waiting in suspension for next part 0.0)
"What?" Rockfur asked "I can teleport!" Cloudtail repeted. He teleported behind his father. "See?" "Wow!" My mom exclamed. "There's more!" I announsed. "I can read minds." Honeypaw said shyly. "What am i thinking?" Rockfur asked her to prove it. "You've just caught a shew," she started, "You want one of us to catch a sparrow and your obviouly in awe." "Wow!" He said, "What can you do?" He asked me. "I'm not sure..." I admited, "I can sort of, 'click', in my mind, and every thing freezes." "Try it!" Bubblewish urged me on. I 'clicked'. What should i do to prove it? I asked myself. I had an idea. I pushed Rockfur's frozen body over and turned my mom around. They where heavy! I 'clicked' again and they moved. Dad stood back up and mom turned back around. "How did you do that?!" They asked. All I could answer, was: "I dont know..."
I awoke in the apprentice den, rather stiff. I padded out to come face-to-face with my mentor. "Silverstar wants me to asess you!" Jaywing smiled. Cloudpaw and Songheart joined us. We padded out of the camp, and our mentors left us. Only Cloudpaw's mentor knew he had powers. Our secret wasn't out yet. Cloudpaw turned towards Tall Pines. He loved telporting to catch squirrels. "Good luck!" He mewed. I ran to the River and sat at it's edge. I loved the water. I swiped about four large fish out of the water before sun-high. That's probobly enough...I thought. I ran ointo the water and swam playfully. Then I heard a voice. Honeykit! Except she wasn't talking. She was nowhere near me at the time. <Bourage!> I heard in my head, <Bring Borage now!> I knew the herb. Somehow, like a picture in my mind, I knew it. I found some and rushed back to camp. Yowling came from the nursery and I ran there. Willowspeak was having her kits! "It worked!" Honeykit grabbed the Borage from my mouth. She gave it to the mother, and the first scrap of fur fell down. It was Brown with lighter stripes. I immediately grabbed it and started to lick it. The second kit came, and it was brown with silver paws. Stripekit a tom, and Starkit, a she-cat. They were so cute! I couldn't wait to have kits of my own...
I had a long day. I had trained with Cloudpaw, and played with the new kits. They played very rough! <These kits will be great Warriors!> I thought-spoke to Honeypaw. <I'm looking forward to their ceremonies.> She sent back. I padded into the apprentice den. It was empty, exept for the snoring Cloudpaw. I settled down beside my brother, and quickly dozed off. I found myself near a river. There were cliffs surrounding the area where I stood. A tan and brown she-cat slowly emerged from the river. She came to me. "I see you've found part of your power." She said with more voices than her own. "Who are you?" I asked. "I am Lilacpool. I was the Medicine cat of Riverclan in your old home. Bubblewish was my apprentice." "My mother was a Medicine cat?" I asked, astonished. "Yes, and she is a Warrior now, according to Starclan's will." "What did you say before? Part... Of my power?" "You will see. I have to show you something," She disapeared, but her voice went on, "You must tell your mother." Suddenly, the clearing was filled with Warriors, Elders, Apprentices, and Queens doing daily work. A yowl broke out, and the stench of Shadowclan filled my nose. A battle emerger. I ran in and tried to help my alies, but my claws slipped right through them. I couldn't damage my opponents, and they couldn't see me. I watched in horror as one by one, The Warriors were killed. The few apprentices were then slaughtered. The whole camp was filled with blood. Then a farmiliar face. Lilacpool ran out of her den, and was immeadiatly attacked by the Shadowclan deputy and Leader. The whole clan was wiped out in what must have been an hour. An apprentice, hardly recognizable from his wounds, looked up at me. "H- el..p." He squeaked as his leader was having all nine lives stripped from her in the backround. I closed my eyes. Something -clicked- in my mind, although not as I could. It was as if I heard the click from the other ear. I opened my eyes and everything lost it's ghostly glow. It was all real. I walked to the apprentice and placed a paw on his side. I could touch him! While the Shadowclan cats were distracted, I dragged him out of sight. Lilacpool appeared beside me. "Cobwebs" She said. I nodded and left to get some. I gathered it from a nearby tree, and rushed it back to him. Lilacpool helped me lick him clean, and press cobwebs on the wounds. She nodded to me, and I -clicked-, sending me to the Riverclan apprentice den. "Huh?"
Note: <Click> is time stop, -Click- is time travel.
Part Twenty Nine
I ran out of the Medicine cat den from visiting Honeypaw. Willowspeak's kits had just become apprentices! I yawned and went to the Apprentice den. It was finally full with apprentices. I settled in an empty nest, and rested my tain on my nose. My ears twitched when i heard my brother settle beside me. I quickly fell asleep. I opened my eyes to come to the apprentice i had left the day before. "Hello?" He pushed himself off of the ground. He winced in pain and fell back down. "It's okay," I mewed, "Just me." He relaxed. "Why are you helping me? Are you a Loner?" He sniffed me. "Riverclan!" He relaxed, "Why don't I recognise you?" "I don't know who you are, but I'm Silverpaw from Riverclan in another forest. Starclan sent me to you tonight, and yesterday night, and I still don't know why." He watched as I changed his cobwebs. "Are you a medicine cat apprentice?" He asked. I looked up. "My sister is. My brother is an apprentice. We have... Powers." His eyes widened. "What kind of powers?" I sat and tucked my paws in. I told him the story, starting when I showed up my dad in the nursery. "Wow. Sounds like you're the most special." He smiled. "Hey, I never got to hear your name!" I smiled back. "Frostpaw," I started to fade away. "I hope I can come tomarrow!" I awoke with a start to find the other apprentices still asleep. "There's a gathering tonight!" My mentor ran in. "You all are going!"

Part Thirty
I ran to the Medicine cat den. I had to talk to my sister about the dreams. Honeypaw turned to me. "I have to talk to you." We both said at the same time. "You go first." She told me. I explained the dreams of helping the apprentice. "Maybe... Maybe Starclan wants ou to bring him here. Maybe our mom forgot to bring him, and they want him to come. I'll tell you if I get any messages from Starclan." She smiled. "Oh... What were you gonna tell me?" I asked. She motioned for me to come in closer. "I.. Well... Stripepaw told me he loves me." She blushed. "And what did you say?!" I got exited. "I like him back!" She smiled. "Oh, I'm so happy for you!" I flicked her ear with my tail. "Even if I am a Medicine cat..." Her feelings quickly changed. "As long as your relationship dosn't get in the way." I reminded her. "Of course not!" She turned around. Cloudpaw ran in. "I have to talk to you two." He panted. "I love Hopepaw in Shadowclan!"
Part Thirty One
"Okay..." I giggled. "Shadowclan?" Honeypaw gasped. "What are you freaking about?" Cloudpaw asked her. "Hopepaw is from another clan!" She announced. "Yes," I pointed out, "But Stripepaw knows you're a Medicine cat." "And you don't even know the tom you like!" She shot back. "Don't you dare talk about Frostpaw!" I dug my claws into the ground. "I'll talk about that stupid mouse-brain as much as i want" She slowly put enphasis on every word. I swiped at her, and laughed when my claws hit flesh. Something jumped on me from behind, and Honeypaw growled. "Stop!" Cloudpaw teleported between us. I started to calm down. "I'm sorry i got you so angry..." Honeypaw moved to me. She rested her tail on my shoulder. "Don't... touch me" I hissed at her. She flinched more than when i clawed her face. I took a quick glance at her face, and i had done some damage. There were three long scratches, making it look like she had a nosebleed. "You should clean up," Cloudpaw changed glances to me, "And you should go to bed." I turned around and walked out. "Going to see the, 'Stupid Mouse-Brain'! " I yowled back furiously at my sister. I plopped into a nest next to Starpaw. "Here i come, love" I went to sleep, remembering Honeypaw's idea to bring him to our home.

I truely don't know how many parts they'll be... =D
Part Thirty Two
I awoke again next to Frostpaw. "Hello," He smiled, "You don't look too happy... Did something happen?" "I had a fight with my sister..." I told him about how we fought about forbidden mates. "You love me?" He gave me a big crooked smile. It was handsome. I could feel myself blush. "Yea..." He stood up, his wounds healed by now, and came to me. I leaned against him, and we sat. Just sat... Looking at the moon. "We'll leave tomarrow." I turned to him. "Where are we going to go?" He asked. "To my home." I answered. He smiled his handsome crooked smile. I thought of Cloudpaw. "Do you think my brother will be okay?" I turned to Frostpaw, "Shadowclan's been pressing on our borders..." "That dosn't sound good at all." He stood up. "That's what i was afraid of..." I glanced at Silverpelt. "Help him, Lilacpool." I begged Starclan.
I think I'll end it when Silverpaw dies... Eventually... Part Thirty Three
I walked out of the apprentice den. A moon had passed, and I hadn't seen Frostpaw in my dreams. Not once. I started to walk to the medicine cat den, but remembered what my sister had said. How could she be so mean? But the fight had to end sometime. "Hey Silverpaw." Starpaw ran to me. "Hello" I greeted the patched tom. "Would... Would you like to go hunting with me?" He smiled. "Umm..." I looked to my sisters den. I wanted to stall. "Sure, lead the way!" I followed him out of camp. Once we got to the forest, he bounded off. I ran to catch up with him, but he was very fast. I clicked in my head and everything frose. I moved a fox-length in front of him, and clicked again. "How'd you pass me so fast?" He laughed. "It's a gift!" I covered. I slowed and we sat under a bramble bush. Starpaw soon joined me. "I thought we were hunting!" I flicked his nose with my tail. "No, it was just an excuse to hang out with you." He smiled the crooked smile that Frostpaw used to give me. I turned away. A voice suddenly came into my head. "Do you hear that?" I asked my friend. "What?" He whispered. I went out of the bush. It was comming from the Shadowclan border. "I doubt it." The sound grew to words. "But why not? I know my brother was never the best at anything, but why does Heatherstar have to hold his apprentice ceremony longer?" It was Hopepaw's voice. "Because shecould have held you back too." Cloudpaw! "Is that Cloudpaw with an enemy warrior?" Starpaw hissed. "Oh no." I looked through a bush to see the apprentices standing togeather.
Part Thirty Four "No!" I called after Starpaw as he entered the clearing. I hopped on his back and flung him to the side. Cloudpaw stood in front of Hopepaw, hoping to protect her. "What are you doing?" Starpaw hissed at me. "Cloudpaw... Loves Hopepaw." I admitted in defeat. "Hopepaw is in an enemy clan..." He ran over and helped me up. "... But they're in love." I looked up at his green eyes that reflected the stars, "Please, keep it a secret? For me?" That won him over. "For you." He licked my ear. I blushed. "We'd better go..." I said to Starpaw. "Yeah..." He smiled at me. We raced eachother back to camp, laughing all the way. "Silverpaw!" Bubblewish ran to me. "Yes, mother?" I asked. "Where have you been? You and Cloudpaw were supposed to be assesed! Where is your brother?" She fired questions at me. "I've been with Starpaw, mom..." I said through gritted teath. She smiled. "Oh!.. Okay then." She winked at me. "Cloudpaw is out hunting," I blushed, "And me and Starpaw were just about to hang out alone in the apprentice den." Starpaw started to go to the warm inviting place. "Say hi to your sister when you get a chance! She's already a Warrior!" Mother called after me. I smiled. A warrior? Already? "Oh... Hi... Your sister's Honeyleaf now!" Stripepaw smiled at me as he left he apprentice den. I went and sat right next to Starpaw. "I love you." He sighed as I got comfortable. I blushed as I finished rustling. "I... Love you too." I smiled at him. I snuggled up to him. His breath was hot on my neck as he breathed in my scent. "Hmm..." I sighed as he licked my neck passionately. This was all happening so fast... But I didn't care. I loved Starpaw, and that was all that mattered.
whoa whoa whoa, didn't she love Frostpaw, and now she's in love with Starpaw. Wait they had the same smile.... are they the same person? I is confuzelled.
I got up and scooted past the still sleeping Starpaw. I ran to the medicine cat den. "Honeypaw! No wait... Honeyleaf!" I whispered, jumping on my sister's back. <Uugghh... Not now... I want to sleep!> Honeyleaf thought-spoke to me. "Well that's too bad! And how about using your real voice?" I smiled. That's when something horrible happened. She opened her mouth, and nothing came out. <I... I can't talk!> She cried. "It'll be okay!" I meowed, paniced, "Just... Have some honey or something... Right?" She nodded. <I... I can take care of myself. You can go.> She ran to the back. I didn't want to leave her, but Cloudpaw was calling me. "Time for the assesment!" He mewed, our mentors following us into the forest. We went our seperate ways, and I quickly killed a mouse and two voles. I heard a bird overhead, and i -clicked-. Climbing the tree, I snagged the frozen creature out of thin air, and killed it. I -clicked- again, and gathered my kill. <How are you doing?> Honeyleaf asked. <Good.> I thought-spoke back to her. Then i stopped. If i could talk to Honeyleaf like that, maybe i could talk to Cloudpaw! <How... How many things have you caught?> I asked him. There was a long silence. I knew it couldn't have worked. <Three.> His voice came. <We can talk like this!?> I asked, exited. <I guess so!> He laughed. It was too cool for words. Grabbing my fresh-kill again, I ran them to the camp entrance. I left them there, and went to the river. I sat at It's edge, and watched the water intently. I quickly swiped a fish out, and killed it with a swift bite. The water settled, and I watched for another. A shadow over took me. I spun aroundf to face another cat. "Frostpaw!"
