--Prologe-- There were four cats, gathered around a shining rock. They touched it, one by one, and fell asleep. But one cat didn't really touch it. this was because she didn't believe in starclan. She was Mothwing, the Riverclan medicine cat. But she fell asleep, and dreamed. *There is darkness everywhere. then, a cat appears, and illuminates the entire forest.* "Only the panther can save the forest." whispered a foice. With these omnious words, she woke up, and told her leader when she returned to camp.

--Chapter one--
Once there were two cats, and when they had kits, I was born. I always was the oddball, alwayd doing something different, and with a totally different pelt, theirs were all white while mine was black. But one day, a badger broke in, and killed my family, as I watched in horror. I was the only survivor. And I knew... I had to get revenge. that badger had red fur from my family's blood, so I knew, without a doubt... I could find it again.

--Chapter two--
I knew I needed shelter. I had journeyed for three days with no food or water. Then I noticed a small river with fish. I managed to catch one, but then they swam away. I got a drink, and noticed a cave with a strange scent on it. I entered, and then something moved and blocked the entrance. My pelt bristled, and I hissed. It was strange with ginger, with a big bushy tail. I ran, but I was young and it was bigger than me. It quickly caught me, but suddenly a cat jumped on it's back, and yelled, "Run! Get out! I can't hold it forever!" I didn't need to be asked again. I darted out, and kept running. I was wery tired now, and fell asleep on a bed of moss nearby.

--Chapter three-- When I woke up, it was daytime. Where am I? I thought. I walked out, and noticed the cat that saved me by the cave entrance. "Uhh... who are you? And why did you save me?" "I am Leopardstar. I only saved you because you are just a kit." she replied. Now, who are you, and what are you doing on Riverclan territory?" "Uhh, I never had a name. My parents were killed a few days after I was born. I don't know where I am either." I said. "Well, I shall bring you to camp. Then we will decide what to do with you."
--End of chapter three--
--Chapter four-- When Leopardstar led me to the camp, The cats looked at me in wonder. Then Mothwing padded up to Leopardstar. "Leopardstar, I need to talk to you. Let's go into your den." she said. they left, and then cats gathered around me. "What's your name?" "Where'd you come from?" "How old are you?" they all asked me, and some just said, " Oh, it's just a kit." My head spun from all the questions. I stammered, "I-I-I don't really know." Their responces varied. "How do you not know?" "Idiot." and "Oh, you poor thing!" Then Leopardstar callde a meeting, and called me up. "Riverclan, this cat is six moons old. Correct?" He asked me, and I nodded. "Do we keep him as an apprentice, or throw him into the woods?" "Get ridda him!" " He looks able..." and "Yes, we need more apprentices!" were the answers. Leopardstar yowled for silence. " It seems the majority wishes him to stay. Very well than, we will hold your ceremony at sunhigh." when I looked at the clearing, there was a gasp from behind me. I didn't hear it, but Mothwing whispered, "Look. His shadow looks like a panther. And his fur shines so that the forest is illuminated. He might be... The cat to save the forest.

Spoiler
p.s.: In my fan-fic, Mothwing believes in Starclan after the prophecy.
--Chapter 5-- It was a good day. I had my apprentice ceremony, and my mentor was Leopardstar herself! my apprentice name was Pantherpaw. I was happy, and she was taking me out to learn the clan boundaries. "Okay, Pantherpaw, what do you scent?" she asked me. I lifted my head to scent the air. "Hmm... I can scent a fox, maybe a few days old. And... Shadowclan's scent markers. Yuk. And... badger!!!!" Instantly my pelt stood on end. Then I saw it- The badger that killed my family!!!!! I was about to attack, but Leopardstar held me back. "Are you mousebrained? That's a full-grown badger! Stop! I shall send a patrol tomorrow, it's getting late." But after the clan was asleep, I went out to track it- and get my revenge.
--End of chapter five--
--Chapter six-- I quickly found the badger, its stench in my nose. I climbed up a tree, thinking if I got enough height, I could break its spine. I jumped on it, and stunned it. But I must've broken a paw, it hurt really bad. Then the badger swiped at me after recovering, and I was severely wounded. I couldn't move, and I was a long way from camp. I knew this would be the end. But I didn't know about the prophecy, and Starclan wouldn't let me die before fulfilling the prophecy. And I promised myself I wouldn't die untill I had my revenge.
--End of chapter six--
--Chapter seven-- I lay there, wounded. After two days, a Thunderclan cat must've scented my blood. "What hap- Whoa! I better get you to your camp! But... are you Riverclan? I don't remember you... But I smell Riverclan on you." he said to me, and very carefully moved me to my camp. Then Leopardstar saw me and the Thunderclan cat. "You! What have you done to Pantherpaw?!?!?!?" She was about to spring, but I lifted my head. "n-n-no... he... saved me... badger..." After saying this I passed out. "It must've been that badger... Mousebrain. an apprentice took on a full grown badger. He is very brave. now Mothwing, can you help him?" Leopard asked the Medicine cat. She nodded, and took me into her den. When I awoke the next day, my wounds were bandaged with cobweb. I tried to get up, but Mothwing stopped me. "don't move that paw! It is very badly broken. It will be a while before you can move around again." she said, and I nodded sadly. But a few moons later...
--End of chapter seven--
--Chapter eight-- After a few monns, my paw was better. I searched for the badger, but I never found it again, so my training went on as usual. Leopardstar was taking me out for some battled, practice. She said, "Okay, come at me!" I didn't hesitate. I jumped over her and slipped under her belly. Then I pushed up, sending her flying. I tackled her in midair, but she flung me away. I jumped up, and she gasped. I landed on her, and pinned her down with my paw on her neck and I asked her, "Why didn't you even try to dodge? I'm sure you could've moved away." But she just shook her head, and said, "Let's go back to camp. It's getting dark out." We quickly padded back to camp. When we got back, Leopardstar went to Mothwing, and whispered quickly, "When we were training, he jumped. When he did... I saw the image of a panther behind him. Do you think it means...?" Mothwing nodded. "Yes, it must be. He... is the panther in the prophecy."

--Chapter nine-- I was out on my assesment. I was determined to do good. If I was very good, I just might, MIGHT, become a warrior. I already caught a few mice, and a rabbit. I scented a squirrel, and saw it. I was ready to pounce, but a fox attaked it. I ran and jumped on its back. It shook me off, but I slashed its nose. It howled in pain. I shouted, "Where are you, Leopardstar?!?!?" I guessed she took my prey back to camp. "Why now?!?!" I cried, and jumped on it again. I bit its scruff, and it attempted to bite me, its teeth flashing at me. I let go, and slashed its ear. It yelped, and ran off. Then Leopardstar ran in, and saw the fox running away, and me. "Did you fight that fox off?" I nodded , and she continued, "I'm sorry I left, but it doesn't look like you needed my help that much. I think you'll be a warrior very soon." I looked at her, my eyes wide. "You mean it?" I asked, and she replied, "Of course. Just an apprentice taking a fox down alone never happened before. Not even I could have." I was happy as we walked back, but I scented... IT.
--End of chapter nine--
--Chapter ten-- I couldn't believe it. I didn't think I'd find it for a long time. But there it was. Leopardstar looked at me, and asked, "What? Is something wrong?" I shook my head, I don't think she smelled it. We walked back to camp. I would slip out at night again. I slipped out, and didn't notice anyone following me. I was too intent on finding the badger. I scented it, and found it. I pounced. I surprised it, giving me a quick advantage. I jumped on its back, slashing it repeatedly. It was getting weak, and I jumped off to bite at its neck. It fell, and I thought I won. Leopardstar emerged from her hiding spot, and said, "What...? You killed a full-grown badger..r? Amazing!" but a shadow fell over us, and there was a flash of red, and Leopardstar fell to the ground, not moving.
--End of chapter ten--
--Chapter eleven-- As soon as I saw that, I flew into a rage. (I was new, and never knew leaders had nine lives.) I saw it was the badger's mate, with its four half-grown kits. They surrounded me, so I couldn't run for help. They were closing in on me, and there was precious little time. I made a plan in my head. "Ha! You stupid badgers couldn't catch me if I was tied up!" I yelled. It worked. The charged at me, but I jumped up. The kits landed in a heap, dazed. The mother was fine, and thought her kits were dead. She attacked fith full force, but was too slow. I nimbly sidestepped, and tried to give her a death bite. It didn't work. She reared up, and fell to the ground, crushing me. I thought I would suffocate under the weight. But suddenly, the weight lifted, and a shining cat with stars in its pelt lifted the badger.
